The Reading section of the IELTS assesses your reading skills in English. It consists of three long texts, which are taken from books, magazines, journals, or newspapers. The texts are authentic and are chosen to reflect the complexity of academic or general reading material.
The texts are accompanied by a set of questions that test various reading skills, such as comprehension, understanding main ideas, identifying supporting details, recognizing logical arguments, and locating specific information. The question types may include multiple-choice, matching, completing sentences, matching headings to paragraphs, and more.
The Reading section is 60 minutes long, and you are expected to manage your time wisely to complete all the questions within the given time.
