Application for Student Visa can be done in two ways:
- A student may submit the online application form and upload all the supporting documents in the pdf format along with the acceptable photograph. Submit the application by paying the visa application fee through credit card
- Students can also submit the hardcopy of all the relevant forms, supporting documents and passport at any of the offices of VFS Global Services Pvt. Ltd.
Documents Required for Student Visa
- Complete application form and supplementary information form
- Visa application fee, online of 330 NZD
- Original Passport
- Covering letter and SOP
- Financial Documents
- Affidavit of support from sponsor
- Evidence of English Language Proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE score card)
- E-Medical acknowledgement of medical check from empanelled doctor that mustn’t be quite three months previous
- Original police clearance certificate( must be less than 6 months old at the time of visa filling)
Acceptable Evidence of Funds
- Education loan sanction letter from nationalized or multi nationalized banks
- Latest bank account statement for the past 6 months. It should not be more than one week old at the time of lodgement of application
- Fixed deposit copies and balance certificate from the bank
- PPF/PF/GPF withdrawable amount
- Parents and only blood relatives should ideally sponsor the student. Only one sponsor it accepted in Newzealand
- Funds should be at least 6 months old. If recent funds are to be shown then documentary evidence in support of every recent deposit should be provided
- Evidence of source of income of the student’s sponsor to be provided. Sponsor must show the documentary evidence of their identity including date of birth, proof of relationship with the student and full contact details including phone number
Fund requirement for New Zealand student visa
- If the course duration is less than one academic year, then provide documentary evidence of fund for the tuition fee for the entire course duration and NZD 20000 towards living expenses in New Zealand
- If the course duration is longer than one year then provide documentary evidence of the fund for one academic year and NZD 20000 towards living expenses in New Zealand. Student also has to show the payment plan to proof that the student has the access to funds and has ability to meet the rest of the course and living expenses in New Zealand
What all can you include in the Payment Plan?
- Form 16 of the sponsor showing income and saving patterns
- EPF or/and GPF accumulated over a period of one year
- Fixed deposits
- NSC due for maturity in the following year
- LIC due for maturity in the following year
PS: Immigration New Zealand does not accept the land documents or the property evaluation documents for the payment plan
Winning Profile for New Zealand Student Visa
- Good academic records- 60% and above average in 10th 11th and 12th and over 50% aggregate in subsequent tertiary qualification with minimum backlogs, if any
- IELTS score or equivalent TOEFL/PTE score as per NZQA requirements
- Student’s immediate family’s verifiable evidence of funds to meet the education and living expenses in New Zealand

- Which intake is best for New Zealand?
Ans. There are two intakes – February and July. However, most international students prefer the July Intake.
